a summer sunshower
drenched us to the bone.
your white linen dress
no longer hid
bare skin
which i longed to taste.
braided hair pulled
to one side,
rivulets of rain
ran down the nape
of your neck
and disappeared
between your breasts.
you still catch my breath
whenever
i hold your hand,
our fingers entwined.
a summer sunshower
drenched us to the bone
but we didn’t care,
the deserted
stretch of beach
receiving each step
as we strolled
further
from our home.
