(mostly) short poems on life and love

midnight reveries

February 24, 2025 by Michael Guerin

beneath my bare body,
cool grass tickles my skin.

surrounded by evening primrose
and its intoxicating scent,

my thoughts meander and drift
to her effortless laugh

and sparkling eyes which
overwhelmed all my defenses.

bathed in pale blue starlight,
i wonder if midnight reveries

can leap across the abyss
between death and life.
