Guilt is wasted energy,
It robs us blind til we can’t see.
It slashes dreams and strangles hope,
Without the need for knife or rope.
It locks us in a mind-made cell,
Where we create our living hell.
It feeds upon regret and shame,
And thrives upon the “What if?” game.
Its indecision keeps us stuck,
And covers us in guilty muck.
It paralyzes us with fear,
And holds us back year after year.
To trust ourselves, despite our flaws,
Will free us from its gripping jaws.
Releasing guilt can set us free,
By choosing love, we hold the key.
