fading (into memory)

March 30, 2018 by Michael Guerin

at the end of this charade
what words are left to say?
and would it even matter
should i come up with just
the perfect phrase?
like a glass full of water
forgotten on the window sill
the colors of my reflection
have slowly bled away
by some process
of evaporation, leaving
only these residued
remains behind.

please keep me
in mind.
