(mostly) short poems on life and love

a singularity

April 6, 2018 by Michael Guerin

without another point a point
is just a point
floating in empty space
with no dimensions to bind it
or help define it.
and if this singularity
could become aware
and begin to feel
would it long for a mirror
in order to see the truth
of its own innate
possibility?

i don’t know how i drifted
along this particular way
floating on these tides
of life, perhaps to repay
some forgotten favor
or maybe nothing
more than a final
chance to play
with my own
inner light?
