(mostly) short poems on life and love

my epitaph

April 9, 2018 by Michael Guerin

nestled among the pines
overlooking puget sound
a two room cabin waits for me
and when my children are grown
and moved far away and the ashes
of my wife season the ocean’s waves
i’ll retire to that place and wrapped
in the solace of silence spend
my remaining days beneath
those comforting gray
skies until it’s finally
time for this body
to lay down
and die.
