(mostly) short poems on life and love

nothing in it *

April 20, 2018 by Michael Guerin

with your feet in the air
and head on the ground
try this trick
start spinning
your self might collapse
because there’s nothing in it
and you may ask yourself
“where’s my mind?”
well it’s way out
in the ether
watch it swimming.

with your feet finally
planted back on the ground
shake your head
and start digging
because your self has collapsed
since there’s nothing in it
no need to ask yourself
“where’s my mind?”
it’s still out there
in the ether
see it swimming.

* this poem was inspired by Puddles Pity Party’s rendition of the Pixies’ “Where is my Mind?”
