pull the thread

should you dare follow
the collective threads
running from now into then
carefully tracing
each knot and line
scrupulously (without
keeping score
or losing count)

then perhaps the day
might come when (face
to face before the undeniable
truth stripped bare of any
artifice) you’ll finally
notice how the ground
beneath your feet

is just the latest phase
of some endless loop
stuck on repeat.
and as the fabric
of your story slowly
unwinds and spools

to the floor
you’re left in the end
with nothing more
than pure
possibility.
