(mostly) short poems on life and love

a locket

June 9, 2019 by Michael Guerin

within an antique locket
hung with filigreed gold
a lock of his hair rests
safe and secure
held against all elements
and the shifting tides
of time as it rises
(or falls)
with each intake of breath
nestled so sweetly
against her breast.
