(mostly) short poems on life and love

sweet surrender

July 23, 2021 by Michael Guerin

i can’t say no
to her velvety lips
so irresistibly close
to mine.

her body moves
with the faintest trace
of lavender, and i ache
for my curious fingers
to trace ancient glyphs
on her silken skin,

slowly gliding along
those intoxicating
lines from the nape
of her neck to between
her breasts.

there i take my rest,
until sliding lower still
my fingertips dance
at the hallowed gateway
of a shared intimacy
beyond worlds
and words
to describe.

i long to taste
the fragrance of her love
and forever lose myself
in that little death
as i revel
in the sweet ecstasy
of her warm
and familiar embrace.
