(mostly) short poems on life and love

under pale moonlight

July 15, 2022 by Michael Guerin

her sun-kissed skin
was smoky gray
bathed in pale
moonlight.
on horizon’s edge
thunderclouds
spoke softly
to each other
as sky-lightning
flashed with morse code
precision.
gentle waves
ebbed and flowed
as the gulf took note,
whispering tales
of sea-dreams
and mermaid
fantasies.
under pale moonlight
i could breathe again.
